Swim for Life Watch Parties 2022

The 35th Provincetown Swim for Life is organizing public and private East End shoreline

Watch Parties for the September 10 fundraiser.

At last year’s Swim for Life & Paddler Flotilla, residents along the East End shoreline swim route gathered spontaneously to greet the delighted swimmers as they headed to the finish line at Cannery Wharf Park. This year, for the 35th Swim for Life on September 10, organizers of the event are inviting waterfront homeowners and renters to gather for Watch Parties with their friends and join in cheering the swimmers on as they pass by.

“The shoreline Swim is an opportunity for the community to personally witness the event up close and give the swimmers a dose of Provincetown hospitality,” states artist Jay Critchley, organizer of the event sponsored by the Provincetown Community Compact.

The Swim for Life start is set for 11:00 am at the beach at the Breakwater and Harbor Hotels. Opportunities for the public to participate in Watch Parties include the waterfront spaces at St. Mary of the Harbor Episcapal Church, 517 Commercial Street, and the Cape Codder Guest House, 570 Commercial Street. There is also public space at the Town Landing at Kendall Lane.

Poster boards and markers for handmade signs will be available for the gatherings, along with an invitation to the Mermaid Brunch following the Swim, catered by Far Land Provisions.

The Swim invites swimmers, kayakers and volunteers to register for the event at Swim4Life.org
